Costing Engineer

Role & Responsibilities :

• Participate in RFQ process by preparing detailed cost estimates for electro-mechanical machines and assemblies.
• Analyze customer specifications, drawings, and BOMs to determine material, labor, and overhead costs.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to validate technical feasibility and cost implications.
• Use Product Configurator tools to create accurate BOMs and routings for configured products.
• Coordinate with procurement to obtain supplier quotes and ensure competitive pricing.
• Prepare cost breakdowns and pricing sheets for submission to customers.
• Conduct cost variance analysis between estimated and actual costs post-project execution.
• Support sales and business development teams with cost-based insights during negotiations.
• Maintain and update costing databases and historical cost records for future RFQs.
• Drive cost optimization initiatives to improve profitability and competitiveness.

Key Skills Required :

• 3-5 years of Experience in costing of complex products, involving large and detailed BOMs, particularly electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Hands-on experience in RFQ processes and quotation preparation.
• Experience with Product Configurator tools (preferably Infor LN or similar ERP systems).
• Proficiency in costing tools, ERP systems (SAP, Infor LN, Oracle), and MS Excel.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost drivers.
• Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple RFQs simultaneously.
